PR Firm Awarded $20 Million Contract to Promote Obamacare; 90% of Its Campaign Donations To Democrats, Mostly to Obama

From The Hill:
...The Health and Human Services Department has signed a $20 million contract with a public-relations firm to highlight part of the Affordable Care Act.

The new, multimedia ad campaign is designed to educate the public about how to stay healthy and prevent illnesses, an HHS official said. The campaign was mandated by the Affordable Care Act and must describe the importance of prevention while also explaining preventive benefits provided by the healthcare law.

The PR firm Porter Novelli won the contract after a competitive bidding process. The $20 million contract was first reported by PR Week. Porter Novelli did not immediately respond to a request for comment...
Now, I have no idea exactly how the competitive bidding process went- but I do know that according to information available on OpenSecrets.org, over the past 6 years employees at Porter Novelli have given 90.39% of campaign funds to Democrats, with Democrat Barack Obama being the single largest recipient of campaign funds.

For the record, I am not stating that the campaign finances were the reason why Porter Novelli was awarded $20 million in taxpayer money to promote a controversial piece of legislation passed by Democrats called by some 'Obamacare'. Perhaps all public relations firms are dominated so heavily by Democrats; perhaps Porter Novelli's bid of $20 million was the lowest bid for an advertising campaign; maybe there was a lot of oversight over the bidding process and it wasn't just HHS officials whose job depends on Obama awarding a contract to promote Obama's only passed legislation of note to a company that promotes Obama with campaign finances.

But it is fact that Porter Novelli was awarded a $20 million contract to promote Obamacare and 90% of the money its employees gave went to Democrats and the single largest recipient was Obama.

If I were a real journalist and I had any real skills on doing research, I'd poke around a bit more here, because this whole incident smells fishy, especially when the Obama administration has a history of giving money to companies dominated by campaign donors to Obama (see my earlier posts Evidence that Obamacare Waivers are Going to Obama Donors and Data Reveals that SunPower Employees Donated to Democrats, then Got Massive Loans).
